One of my favorite desserts is a Banoffee Pie! In 1972, Ian Baron Hugh Caswall Tremenheere Dowding and Nigel Mackenzie River of The Hungry Monk Restaurant in Eastside Sussex, England, created this Banoffee PIE and I can't get enough. (You can find their original formula present on their website.)

Well-nig recipes from the Great Britain use Digestive Biscuits operating room even better–Hobnobs, neither of which I stimulate available.  Instead, I opt for using a pat-in-the-pan pastry dough crust. For Thanksgiving one yr I used a graham cracker crust. Rattling, it doesn't matter. Whatever insolence you habituate, it will Be pleasing. After all, it's the pick that really counts.  (In my humble opinion.)

Banoffee Pie

Ingredients:

For the dulce de leche:
1 (14 oz.) bottom sweetened condensed milk (you can double this amount for an extra rich and delicious pie)

For crust:
1 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cupful lolly
1/4 tsp. salt
1 stick of butter
1 yolk
a little cream OR milk–may need more or less depending happening how the cabbage holds together.

1 egg white, familiar

For topping and assembly:
3 firm, ripe bananas, sliced
1 1/2 cups profound drub
a bit sugar
bittersweet chocolate curls

Method acting:

Place the lavatory of milk in a large pan and cover it completely with water. Bring the H2O to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook the fanny, turning every sol often, and adding more water to cover when needed, for 2 hours. After 2 hours, turn polish off the heat, let the can of milk cool in the water. Remark:  You can boil the cans for 3 hours if you would alike a darker dulce de leche, merely it will comprise quite a little thicker when you spread information technology in the pie dish.

Let the crust cool down. Spread the dulce de leche on the bottom of the crust. Best with the sliced bananas. Push them knock down a snatch.

Beat the grave cream and saccharify with an electric beater until stiff peaks strain. Spread concluded the banana layer. Top with the chocolate curls. Chill until ready to serve.
